    This shouldn’t even be an issue. It’s not choosing what school your child goes to or what they eat or who they can hang out with, it’s cutting off part of their body at your will for no reason (other than the possible, but unlikely religious case of Jewish Jews… But how do you know they will be Jewish [religion] as well?) All-in-all, circumcision is just silly, and just another little thing for your 16yo to hate you when they get older. Edit: Decided to elaborate…. Reasons I have heard to give (not get) a circumcision: Cleanliness (Counter [though somewhat exaggerated]: We do not permanently remove a baby’s hair so he never has to wash it) Religious (Counter: It’s not your penis, it is His penis, and you should not permanently and irreversibly impose your religion on him, in the same way you would not tattoo a cross on a newborn’s back) Inhibits masturbation (Counter: No it doesn’t…) Visually pleasing, makes penis look cleaner or larger (Counter: It is not of your concern as to whether or not your son’s penis is attractive, other than in the case where you are an incestual pedophile, but even then, it is not your penis, much like you would not pierce your daughter’s nipples) You hate that your man is uncut (Counter: Seriously?) Inhibits infections and STI’s (Counter: This is a cleanliness issue. As a parent, your responsibility in this situation is… not to cut off your son’s foreskin, it’s to teach him to keep clean!!!) If not, in order to insure that he does not get an infection, you may have to wash his penis directly (Counter: After circumcision, depending on the development [age], you may be REQUIRED to thoroughly clean the penis for a short period after the procedure) Reasons against: IT IS NOT YOUR PENIS It can result in mild to severely deforming complications (Counteracting the so-called visual appeal resulting from circumcision) It often results in a loss of sensitivity I believe if you would look at the majority of people, the consensus would not be a “grass is greener” conclusion, but that of wishing to return to the natural-born state.
